I have been going out with my boyfriend for about a year now. I'm 16 and he's 17. He really still likes me a lot though, but I feel otherwise. I do not like him at all and have tried to break up with him several times over the past few months. He will not let me. I have been so stern and told him that I do NOT like him. I really want - NEED- a break from him. He talks me out of it everytime. PLEASE HELP ME BREAK UP WITH HIM, im in denial and very unhappy because of him. help help help help !!!!! |

Inah:Um, you don't ever need someone's permission to break up with them. Tell him things are over and that's final -- break up with him by phone if you have to and don't keep talking with him long enough for him to talk you out of it. Don't take his calls. Don't talk to him at school. If things get violent get an adult involved.

whatdoyoumeancookie:how can someone not let you break up with them? break up with him in front of other people, your friends, maybe? so that he can't stop you?

marinemj:harley and inah are right. write him a note if you can't talk to him. if he is threatening to hurt himself or something like that, go to his parents and tell them.

If he keeps talking you out of it, you may need to involve your parents and/or his parents. Things could get out of hand otherwise. You can't be forced into staying in a relationship. Make your parents aware of the situation so they can help you.
