can I have sex 3weeks after having a hysterectomy? I need to know so I can inform my husband so he can stop asking for sex if it's too soon. |

harleygirl:First, ask your doctor. Second, tell your insensitive husband to jack off in the shower until you're ready. My ex-husband had hernia surgery when my daughter was just beginning to walk, and while he was laid up in a recliner, if she came within 15 feet of him, he'd squeal like a stuck pig that our daughter was coming close to her. I gave birth to three daughters, two of them C-sections, and he couldn't handle a little hernia. My point is, if the shoe was on the other foot, your husband would be crying like a baby for you to take care of him, and telling his mother that your weren't doing enough.

Depends on many things... First and most important is how do you feel? I had a hysterectomy in April and I wanted sex as soon as possible to make sure everything still worked :) It also depends on how the surgery was done, mine was the least evasive removal(vaginally). I had to go back in because of a slight infection by the stitches. My doctor recommended 4 weeks, I think I made it to 3 weeks.
I think it was about 2 months before I was truly back to normal mentally. It takes an emotional and hormonal toll on you to have a hysterectomy. I had my tubes tied for 8 years before I had the surgery I did not want any more kids, but it is pretty final when you have your uterus removed that there will be no kids and my other mental issue I had is I was raised that your period defined you as a woman and having that taken away before it's time really messed with my head. If you feel ready give it a try, but make sure you are feeling up to it.
