My vaginal area is burning, my dad said he would take a look!..but i rather not..my dr. is a male...and i dont like that thought because last time he looked up there he put all this weird things up there it really hurt(he makes me feal uncomfortable)...my dad was there that day he said he does a good job and i should let him take a look....it hurts alot but that doctor hurts me up there! |

RevAngel:Don't now assume that your dad is bad because of what he asked you. These people answering your question are jumping to conclusions and it could totally warp your life! Again, advice shouldn't be given unless there's enough info. We have no idea how old you are. When my son was 9, I would have checked his private area if it hurt him. That doesn't make me a pervert. I'm disgusted with women who perpetuate the idea that all men are perverts or sex fiends. Ask dad for a female doc. That's the simple and reasonable answer.

harleygirl:Under no circumstances should you let your dad "take a look"! If the last doctor hurt you, go to a different one. The instruments used aren't the most comfortable, but they don't have to be painful. You might have a urinary tract infection, and you shouldn't let it go. You may just need to give a urine sample and get antibiotics. Go to a regular doctor first!

marinemj:harley is right- see if your dad will take you to another doctor. just tell him you would be more comfortable with a woman. on another note, it sounds like your dad has some serious boundary issues he should not be in there while you have a pelvic exam. is there someone else you can talk to about these things? an aunt? a friend's mom??

LolaMarie:Your Dad must be a pervert for even suggesting he take a look. As for Doctors I don't like them either. Go to the Grocery store or drug store and by some yeast infection medicine. Symptoms of yeast infections are itching and burning. You don't need a perscription for it. Try it and see if that doesn't clear up your problem then you should go to a Doctor. Could be a uniary tract infection in which they will only ask you to pee in a cup. Lola Marie

yeah, i don't think you want your dad looking at your vagina. just tell him you would rather have a woman doctor, or if he won't do that, then when you get to the male doctor tell him you would rather have a female doctor. i'm sure he will help you explain that to your dad. and, yeah, if you have any female relatives you should talk to them.
